The Work of Charles and Ray Eames:

9 05 2009

Husband and wife team, Charles and Ray Eames promised affordable but high quality furniture at the end of World War II. They were proponents of mass-production of furnishings and accessories, as the ideal way to spread this philosophy throughout America. They designed among other things, collapsible sofas, storage units and seating for airports and stadia. This exhibition entitled ‘A Legacy of Invention’brings together the focus of the Eames’work, that of functionality and the belief that design could improve people’s lives.
